OK, so this might not be the greatest SEO achievement of my life.
We recently got to the top of the search rankings for 'Somerville SEO Agency'.
But this is important, because it shows our potential clients and businesses in our local area that we practice what we preach, and that we can use our own skills to get new clients for our own business. And that our methods work.
But this marks something else for me, Claire, the owner of Aloha Life Digital.
Because this isn't my first turn around the block of building a business. It isn't my first time getting to the top of search rankings, or getting clients from Google.
But it's the first time I got THIS business to the top of search rankings.
It's the first time I've got a US-based business I own to the top of search rankings.
It's the first time I've put Aloha Life Digital on a literal (digital) map within the USA, my adopted country, and claimed a little corner of the internet here.
So this feels significant to me. And I'm proud of this moment, and all the things it's taken to get here.
This is what it takes to build a business.
It's lots of micro-achievements like this. And taking the time to acknowledge them when they happen.
Somerville is where I live. It has 80k inhabitants, so not tiny, and it's one of the most densely populated cities in the USA.
☕It has lots of coffee shops.
🍽️ And great restaurants.
🇺🇸 It's also the first place in the USA where the Star Spangled Banner was flown (that's the US flag for anyone who doesn't know).
It also doesn't have a ton of SEO agencies.
So honestly, getting to the top of the search rankings here isn't that hard. I could let you think it was hard.
So I'm sure other SEO experts will say: 'So what? It isn't even that hard.'
And they're right.
But I never intended to be an agency owner, so this is a proud moment for me regardless.
And like all business owners, I occasionally need a bit of validation too! (Yes, the imposter syndrome is real.)
I launched this page a few weeks ago. And then inadvertently deindexed it two weeks ago (doh!). And reinstated it last week.
And here we are now in first position.
I'm super happy to own this little corner on the internet, in this awesome town.
